On the 9th of June I set off from Tewitfield in the lakes with my father and embarked on a paddle through England via canals, estuaries and sea in order to raise the profile and some money for WaterAid on the way to the capitol with the aim of finishing in Little Venice. The trip was done over 10 days with what equated to be 74 hours of paddling and plenty of pub lunches and talking with britains waterway users. The whole trip was filled with plenty of ups and downs, and was not always easy paddling as can be seen in the slide show opposite. However close to £3000 was raised and over 200 lives changed in the thord world due to this little expedition. If you would like to see more pictures and read about the trip the entire diary can be found on my blog: |
